A Television Special About Alcoholism Symptoms Results In Disheartening Thoughts About A Female's Hazardous Drinking

Sharon had been engaging in excessive drinking behavior since her junior year in college. Now, seven years later, she drank more than ever. One Monday evening when she was feeling a bit nauseous, Sharon made up her mind to stay home, loosen up, and watch television. While seeking to find something to watch that would grab hold of her attention, she without delay became attracted to a special program about young adult and teen drinking troubles.

The speaker articulated the difference between alcohol abuse and alcohol addiction and then got into the topic of alcoholic symptoms and alcoholic behavior. When the speaker went into detail about an individual's symptoms of withdrawal and some of the more customary alcohol dependency signs and symptoms that alcohol addicted individuals exhibit, Sharon got quite worried because it virtually seemed as if the speaker was talking specifically to her.

After watching the television documentary, Sharon made a promise to herself that she would telephone her health care provider the next workday and make an appointment to discuss her abusive and careless drinking.

When the next workday arrived, true to her word, Sharon called her health care provider and scheduled an appointment. While she was waiting for the day of her appointment to arrive, she went on the web and did a search for alcoholism symptoms. Especially noteworthy were the following signs or symptoms: serious work-related and relationship problems, increasing irritability, sleep problems, sneaking a few extra drinks before social events, and making excuses to drink at almost every opportunity.

Simply put, since Sharon exhibited all of these signs she went deeper in her Internet search and found numerous blogs and websites that highlighted different alcoholic warning signs and symptoms. One of the symptoms that really grabbed her interest was the following: "Do you commonly drink after making a promise to yourself that you won't?"

Another alcohol dependency symptom that grabbed her awareness was the following: "Have family members gotten on your nerves by frowning on your irresponsible and abusive drinking?" A third alcohol dependency symptom was the following: "Do you desire a drink when you first awaken in the morning?"

The final alcohol dependency warning sign that made her feel especially on edge about her irresponsible and abusive drinking was the following: "Has your motivation declined since you started drinking on a more normal basis?" When Sharon read this sign she noticeably comprehended that drinking had become a critical issue in her life because of her lack of energy and also because she quit pursuing her passions and her goals.

After thinking about all of these hurtful alcohol addiction symptoms and signs, Sharon at first felt glum. Then something thrilling occurred. She reflected on the fact knew that she was going to see her health care provider about her irresponsible and abusive drinking and she also knew that she would talk about her alcohol addiction warning symptoms and signs.

As a matter of fact, for the first time in several months, Sharon frankly felt a sense of hope because she was addressing her irresponsible and abusive drinking and was after all has been said and done ready to make the necessary adjustments so that she could recapture the life that was sliding away.
