I was in a state of sheer panic. Of course it is not a surprise to be in a panic before the day of the wedding. After all, it was the most important day of my daughter's life, and one of the most significant days of mine.

It seems that the florist had mixed up the flower arrangement. It is not like we hadn't given him careful instructions. Just like with assembling the wholesale wedding favors, we gave step by step instructions. I know that flower arrangements for weddings are one of the most important decorative elements, along with those wholesale wedding favors. They were the final thing that we picked out, & meant to reflect all of the other elements. Arrangements for weddings, you see, don't stand alone. They need to reflect the bridesmaid dresses, the bridal gown, the wholesale wedding favors, & the decorations of the room. Everything has to be taken in to account or else nothing will look right. I had worried that the flowers for weddings would not look right, but it did not even occur to me that the florist would get the order wrong. I figured that it may look different once we got into the room and not be a sign of the other elements of the decor the way that I wished. But when he screwed up at the last minute, it was more than I could take.
It wasn't like the flower arrangements for the wedding were slightly off. They were not right at all. If the flower arrangements for weddings had been, say, a lighter shade of purple instead of the dark purple that I had elected, it would have been alright. As it was, they were completely different. I assume that he mixed them up with some other arrangements for weddings ordered by some other wedding day party. They were probably having the same nervous fit that I was having right now. As opposed to the dark violet floral bridal bouquet that we had preferred, we're presented with a series of Calla lily arrangements. I think that calla lilies make great arrangements for weddings, but they did not go together with anything. They clashed terribly. All the guests were polite about it, but I can not believe that nobody noticed!
